What is the shape of 20minutes? Lessons from building recommender infrastructures for news

News recommenders have an increasing influence how we experience and consume media. They also have specific properties that distinguish them from recommenders in other areas. From our experience in an ongoing project with 20minutes, we argue that they should not be looked at in isolation, but be rather a single component in a holistic audience intelligence system.
